Abstract

The sesame varieties and lines included in the selection program of IPGR – Sadovo were measured for morphological and biological traits responsible for high yields and others favouring mechanized harvesting. The direct and indirect effects of the seed yield components of a plant were identified. The direct effect of the number of capsules on the main stem and branches on the seed yield of a plant was proven. The indirect positive impact of the height of the main stem is expressed by the positive relationship between the latter and the number of capsules on the branches and stem.
