Abstract

The process of Poland’s European Union integration had a significant impact on the structure of expenditures in agriculture. Some of the introduced objectives directly related to agricultural families, including an increase in their income and well-being, while others referred to their environment and were aimed at the comprehensive and sustainable development of agriculture and rural areas, as well as an improvement in the competitiveness of food and agricultural economics, and creating new job opportunities in rural areas. The study examines the role of the basic support instruments under CAP in developing the economic and social condition of agricultural holdings, and in facilitating progress in rural areas.
