Abstract

The traditions connected with the life-style and culture of the Bulgarian population, the favourable natural conditions for vine growing as well as the available scientific potential constitute the basic prerequisites for the recognition of Bulgaria as a typical vine growing country.
The purpose of this research is to evaluate the influence of CAP on the branch structure of vine growing in Bulgaria.
The character and significance of the investigated processes have been defined by the following indicators: development rate, constant development rate, average development rate, absolute average growth.
The following indicators have been used for the evaluation – area under vine, age, variety, share, trend of development.
The analysis shows that CAP does not create growth incentives for the Bulgarian vine sector. There is a need for a sector development policy in accordance with the current economic situation.
