Abstract
Big leaf tobaccos take up a significant part of the total tobacco production in Bulgaria. In this country they are presented by the Virginia and Burley varieties groups. The yield and quality of our production are seriously inferior to those in major producing countries. To maintain the production it is of crucial importance to create and introduce new higherquality and higher-yield producing Virginia and Burley tobacco varieties.
