Abstract
The dynamics of major breeding signs (Struthio camelus) in black-neck and blue-neck subspecies ostriches bred in closed populations for 6 years, including body weight, the dimensions and proportions of the structure, egg production, egg weight, fertility and hatchability is studied. Investigated in 2005 population consisted of a herd of ostriches, imported from South Africa, Greece and Poland, and in 2012 – mostly from their descendants. The parameters of the correlation between the features exterior, productive and reproductive capacity are identified.
