Abstract
An analysis and generalization of features of selection of horse of the French trotting breed are conducted. The quantity of horse of the French trotting breed is analyzed in Ukraine. The origin of winners of traditional prizes is analyzed. It is set that the purebred horse of the French trotting breed and cross-breed with part of heredity of this breed for the last 10 years won only in 5,29% cases. During a proof-of-concept period in 2011 the purebred French trotters gained 9 open prizes. It is set that playfulness of horse of this breed for certain is higher, in comparison with the Orlov and Russian trotters.
